Kristen Morin & Joe Morin | Married at LaBelle Winery Derry on December 21, 2024

There is something undeniably magical about a December wedding at LaBelle Winery. Between the glow of LaBelle Lights, the warmth of candlelit spaces, and the seasonal sparkle in the air, winter celebrations bring out the romantic in everyone.

Kristen Morin and Joe Morin embraced the season beautifully with a joyful, detail-filled wedding at LaBelle Derry. We caught up with Kristen after the wedding to hear about her planning experience, what made her choose a winter date, and why LaBelle was the perfect setting.

Ivana: What made you choose a winter wedding over another season?

Kristen: We loved that it was different from the typical summer wedding. The cozy decor, romantic lighting, and the opportunity to celebrate during the holiday season just felt right for us. And honestly, LaBelle had some great deals during the winter which made it even better.

Ivana’s Wedding Planning Tip: Winter weddings often come with built-in advantages like seasonal promotions, venue availability, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Choosing a date outside of peak season can be both memorable and smart.

Ivana: What made you choose LaBelle for your winter wedding?

Kristen: LaBelle in Derry was beautiful all around. We loved the Christmas decor and the LaBelle Lights. There was a real wow factor when guests drove up to the wedding. It felt warm and festive from the very start.

Ivana’s Wedding Planning Tip: When touring a venue, try visiting during the same season you are planning to get married. The energy, decor, and light will help you visualize your day more clearly.

Ivana: How did the LaBelle team help make planning easier for you?

Kristen: We mainly worked with Ivana, who made the whole process insanely smooth. She was always helpful and quick to answer any questions. She was also really accommodating with all of our requests and worked with us to make everything fit within our budget. It made planning so much less stressful.

Ivana’s Wedding Planning Tip: Don’t hesitate to lean on your venue’s wedding team. We are here to guide you through logistics and vendor coordination and to help keep your vision intact and your stress levels low.

Ivana: Did the season influence your style choices, like the dress, flowers, or color palette? How did the venue complement that?

Kristen: Yes, we definitely leaned into the winter theme. We had a Christmas-inspired style with lots of trees and lights throughout the wedding. Our decor combined with LaBelle’s traditional holiday decorations made the atmosphere really romantic and beautiful. They also had seasonal winter cocktails we picked for the reception and our guests loved them.

“We really leaned into the winter theme and it turned out better than we could have imagined. LaBelle’s holiday décor was already so beautiful, and when we added our own trees and lights, it felt like a cozy winter wonderland. Our guests loved the festive cocktails and the whole day felt relaxed and joyful.”

Ivana’s Wedding Planning Tip: Let the season work for you. Winter at LaBelle comes with beautiful décor already in place. Adding your own touches on top of that can make the space feel truly magical.

Ivana: What is one thing you absolutely loved about having your wedding here in the winter?

Kristen: We loved being able to take some of our photos in the LaBelle Lights. It made for such a fun and unique wedding experience. The lights added something extra that made the day feel magical.

Ivana’s Wedding Planning Tip: Build time into your timeline for special moments like photos at LaBelle Lights, our winter holiday light show with millions of lights in whimsical displays, or a private toast together before the reception. These quiet pauses often become the memories couples treasure most.

Ivana: What advice would you give to couples currently planning their winter wedding at LaBelle?

Kristen: Really dive into the winter theme. Take advantage of the LaBelle Lights and the seasonal cocktails. The ceremony and reception indoors still felt beautiful and romantic. Everyone working that night made the experience seamless. The whole team was fantastic and we were really well taken care of.

Ivana’s Wedding Planning Tip: Embrace the season. Use the lighting, the cocktails, and the cozy indoor spaces. All of it adds up to an experience your guests will remember. And with everything under one roof, winter weddings at LaBelle are both easy and elegant.

Conclusion:

Kristen and Joe’s wedding was a beautiful example of how thoughtful winter details can transform a celebration. As part of the LaBelle Weddings team, I had the joy of helping them bring their seasonal vision to life at our New Hampshire venue.

They embraced the winter theme fully, from festive signature cocktails like the Mistletoe Martini and Gingerbread Old Fashioned to a custom hot chocolate station topped with wine-infused whipped cream and crushed peppermint. Their wedding menu blended elegance and comfort, with gourmet flatbreads, seasonal pastas, and a carving station featuring peppercorn-crusted beef sirloin.

For engaged couples considering a winter wedding, Kristen and Joe’s day is a perfect reminder that the season is full of charm, creativity, and celebration.
