Derry, New Hampshire — Winemaker Amy LaBelle and husband Cesar Arboleda, co-owners of LaBelle Winery in Amherst and Portsmouth, New Hampshire, announce their vision for the new wedding and event center at LaBelle Winery Derry, formerly Brookstone Events & Golf in Derry, New Hampshire.

The Derry wedding and event center is currently being renovated under the direction of designer and architect Peter Niemitz of the Niemitz Design Group of Boston. Nemitz is known for exceptional restaurant and event space design. Fulcrum Associates of Amherst, New Hampshire, is managing the renovation. Renovations are expected to be complete in April.

Event spaces at LaBelle Winery Derry will include the 4,400-square-foot Vineyard Ballroom, seating 300 people, and an adjoining 3,000-square-foot outdoor terrace ballroom, overlooking a serene natural pond with a fountain that acts as a focal point for the venue. The Harvest Room, which will accommodate 200 guests, will provide a venue for smaller wedding receptions, ceremonies and cocktail hours. Couples can utilize two dedicated private hospitality suites as part of their rentals.

The Vineyard Ballroom’s aesthetic will be “farmhouse modern.” This elegant yet comfortable decor will include natural soothing tones, hardwood floors, wainscoting, natural French linen draperies and deeply textured wall coverings that resemble birch bark. The Icon Group in Nantucket is crafting the room’s custom light fixtures, made of wrought iron with delicate accents. The celestial foyer lighting is a nod to LaBelle’s passion for stargazing. “When I saw these beautiful lights, they spoke to me. They are outstanding works of art. I love the balance of functionality and beauty they impart,” LaBelle says.

Along with stunning indoor spaces for hosting wedding receptions, LaBelle Winery Derry will offer unique outdoor venues for ceremonies and cocktail receptions. The property’s 4-acre vineyard will contain a private ceremony space, created exclusively for weddings and cocktail receptions.

Ceremonies and cocktail hours can also be held in the Vineyard Ballroom and adjoining ballroom terrace, the Harvest Room, or on The Barn terrace. The Barn will be a newly constructed building, home to LaBelle’s sparkling wine production area, a tasting room, and a private terrace that will overlook the vineyard.

“Our goal is to create one of the best wedding and event venues in the area,” LaBelle says. “This stunning property, which Cesar and I fell in love with, offers engaged couples the opportunity to create the wedding they always dreamed of in traditional or non-traditional style.”

All venues at LaBelle Winery Derry will be suitable for rehearsal dinners and post-wedding brunches, as well as corporate, social and nonprofit events. “Our Amherst location is known for exceptional food, beverage and service,” LaBelle says. “We are so pleased to now be able to bring that excellence to couples who want to tie the knot at LaBelle Winery Derry.”

The Derry property will also include Americus, an upscale casual restaurant with an approachable, made-from-scratch menu, including a 50-person private dining room. LaBelle Winery’s newest location will also feature a retail market, a 9-hole par-3 golf course, miniature golf, and a green space dedicated to live outdoor performances. Americus and the LaBelle Winery Market are scheduled to open in May.

After working as a corporate attorney in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, Amy LaBelle founded LaBelle Winery in 2005 at Alyson’s Orchard in Walpole, New Hampshire. In 2008, she and husband Cesar Arboleda moved the winemaking operation to a barn behind their home in order to expand production.
