What Mom Really Wants for Mother’s Day (From a Winemaker’s Perspective)

Mother’s Day can feel like a lot. There are flowers, gifts, reservations, all the things you are supposed to do.

But when I think about it, both as a winemaker and as a mom, what we really want is much simpler.

Over the years, I’ve learned that the best moments are not the most elaborate ones. They are the ones where you can actually be present. That has always been at the heart of what we do at LaBelle Winery.

We believe in creating space for people to gather, slow down, and be fully there with each other. And that is really what Mother’s Day should be about.

Time to slow down

Winemaking teaches you patience. You cannot rush the process. You let the wine evolve into what it is meant to be.

Life does not always allow for that kind of pace. Motherhood certainly does not.

So when Mother’s Day comes around, what I want most is simple. Time to slow down. Not a packed schedule, not running from one thing to the next. Just time to sit, a good meal, and a glass of wine I can actually enjoy.

Time Shared together

In the end, it is not about what you give. It is about who you are with.

A meal at the table, a walk through the vineyard, a conversation that is not rushed. Those are the moments that stay with you.

A Break From the Everyday

One thing I know for sure: moms do not want more to do. We do not want to cook the meal, plan the day, or clean up after it. We want to feel taken care of.

Even something as simple as sitting down and being served can feel like a gift.

At LaBelle, that is exactly what we aim to create. A relaxed, thoughtful experience where everything is handled, from the food to the setting, so you can simply be present.

Thoughtful Matters More Than Fancy

I am a winemaker, so of course I believe a great bottle of wine has a place on Mother’s Day. But it is not about choosing the most expensive bottle. It is about choosing something that feels personal.

What does she actually enjoy? What makes her pause for a moment?

Great wine takes time. I say that often, because it is true in every sense. And the same goes for meaningful moments.

They are not rushed. They are intentional.

Keep it Simple

If I could offer one piece of advice for Mother’s Day, it would be this: keep it simple.

Sit a little longer, talk a little more, be fully there. Because that is what makes the day feel special.

Come Spend the Day With Us

I’ve spent years building a business, raising a family, and learning how to balance both. Mother’s Day is one of my favorite days of the year, because it is a reminder that none of it is about doing more. It is about making space for what matters.

If you are looking for a way to celebrate this year, we would love to welcome you to LaBelle. Our Mother’s Day dining experience brings everything together in one place: a three-course meal served tableside, seasonal dishes crafted with care, and a setting designed to let you slow down and enjoy the people you love.
