Amherst, New Hampshire — LaBelle Winery’s rosé wine, a varietal that the winery just began producing this year, has won a silver medal in the 2019 Experience Rosé Competition in the dry rosé category. It is the largest wine competition in the U.S. focusing exclusively on rosé.

The Experience Rosé Competition, which was held on May 1, 2019 at Soda Rock Winery in Healdsburg, California, accepts entries from wineries nationally and internationally. The competition judges dry, sweet and sparkling rosé wines, honoring the best examples with a bronze, silver, gold or double gold medal.

“We are honored to receive this award for our first rosé and so pleased to represent New Hampshire well in this competition, putting New England Rose on the map,” says Amy LaBelle, who is the co-owner of and winemaker at LaBelle Winery.

LaBelle rosé is made from a classic blend of grenache and syrah grapes, imported from Walla Walla, Washington. The wine has a fruity character, exhibiting aromas of watermelon, florals and strawberries. On the palate, this wine offers a refined and elegant flavor profile. Its slightly elevated acidity complements poultry and seafood dishes, and salad courses. This dry wine is also perfect for sipping on its own. Enjoy LaBelle rosé well chilled.

LaBelle rosé is available for $17 a bottle at the winery’s Amherst and Portsmouth locations as well as at New Hampshire Liquor and Wine Outlet stores.

LaBelle Winery’s flagship location and vineyard are located at 345 Route 101 in Amherst, New Hampshire.

The Bistro at LaBelle Winery, also in Amherst, serves lunch and dinner as well as brunch on Sundays. The restaurant is family-friendly and offers a special menu for children.

Guided tours of the Amherst facility are offered from noon to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Call (603) 672-9898 or visit LaBelleWineryNH.com for more information.
